SEMINARS AVAILABLE FROM THE CHSV HEIRLOOM SEED  EXCHANGE                              Our Seminars are held at Castlewood located at Krause and Ironbridge Rds. 

All classes run approximately 2 hours.  Register for all classes by calling 768-0616 -               leave name, phone number and name & date of class.  

 

"How to Save Seeds" If you are gardening with seeds you will want to save some so you can grow your favorites during the next planting season. You will learn about spring and fall planting, the difference between annuals and biennials when it comes to saving seeds, how to protect your seeds from cross-pollination, when to harvest for seeds and how to clean, dry and store many popular kinds of seeds for next year. You will also learn how to test for seed viability. You will also go home with some written instructions to help you save your seeds. This seminar is $20/person or Free to All Heirloom Seed Exchange Members Only, all others pay $20.  The seminar wiill be held at Castlewood on the corner of Ironbridge and Krause Roads in Chesterfield, VA 23832.         Saturday, August 11 - 10 AM or Monday, August 20 - 1 PM                                              Friday, June 8 - 1PM or Saturday, June 9 - 10 AM

"Herbs - Preserving and Using in Cooking"  From harvesting herbs, to cleaning, drying and chopping them fresh for your recipes, this seminar will help you learn how to add more flavor to your meals with herbs - including both savory and sweet dishes. You can cut your salt intake, add more flavor and nutrients to your meals using herbs. A chart of what herb typically goes with what meat or veggie will be provided along with some good recipes. The cost is $25/person and the seminar will be held at Castlewood on the corner of Ironbridge and Krause Roads in Chesterfield, VA 23832.     Friday, July 20 - 1 PM or Saturday, July 21 - 10 AM
