This camp is for ages 8 -13. This camp will engage and allow children to participate and experience many of the activities and common period games that children played during the 18th and 19th centuries. Children will participate in colonial and Native American crafts including, pottery making, candle dipping, butter churning and soap making. Additional crafts will be doll making, clay pots, weaving and much more. Snacks and water provided. Castlewood, 10201 Iron Bridge Road

Grandparent/Grandchild Summer Day Camp
COST $100.00 PER grandparent and grandchild.
Tuesday - Thursday, 10 am. -3 pm.
July 14 - 16
For ages 7 -12 and grandparent. Space is limited. This 3-day camp will give a limited number of children and their grandparents a journey back in time to the late 18th century. Participates will dig like an archaeologist, march with muskets and drums, attend 18th century school, make and lay bricks, play colonial games, do laundry the old-fashion way and much more. This exciting new camp experience is a wonderful way for grandparents to bond with your grandchild while myriad hands-on activities. Everyone will "live it, learn it and love it". Archaeology Summer Camp
Monday- Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Session 1: July 6-10
Session 2: August 10-14
For children ages 8-13.
The program will provide an introduction to archaeology providing a variety of engaging activities ranging from experiencing site surveys, site mapping, archaeological excavations, artifact repair and reconstruction, soil surveys and documentation.
